Drugs, counterfeit money and weapons seized during operation

Operation RapTor strikes hundreds of dark web vendors and buyers across four continents

Cocaine, ketamine, cash and weapons were seized when officers took part in the latest operation to tackle drug supply in Medway.

On Saturday 15 November 2025, officers from the Community Safety Unit and Licensing Team, supported by the Dog Unit, carried out targeted visits to licensed premises and hotspot locations in Gillingham and Rochester.

Key results from the operation include:

  • Six stop-and-searches in the Redfern Avenue area of Gillingham, where a police dog detected ketamine on one man. The drugs were seized, and the man received a Community Resolution.
  • At a pub in Canterbury Street, Gillingham, officers arrested a man after finding five deal bags of cocaine, cash, and a mobile phone. He was issued with a Community Resolution.
  • In Rochester High Street, police dogs sniffed out a man carrying cannabis deal bags. A follow-up search at a nearby address found large quantities of Class A and B drugs, multiple mobile phones, deal bags, and scales, weapons, including a sickle knife and a crossbow, counterfeit money and a safe containing further drugs.

Rashanne Miller, 31, from High Street, Rochester, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs. He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 November.

District Commander for Medway, Chief Inspector Paul Diddams said:

‘We run these operations on a regular basis as they act as a good deterrent to people who are thinking about carrying illegal drugs.  ‘It is also a good opportunity to ensure licensing conditions are being upheld by businesses in the area.  ‘Our highly-trained dogs are used to search people under the Misuse of Drugs Act if they indicate the person stopped might be in possession of drugs. Residents should be reassured that we will continue to carry out these operations as a preventative measure in order to disrupt those involved in criminal activity.’
