ATLANTA — Authorities uncovered hundreds of kilos of meth hidden in blackberry shipments during coordinated raids across metro Atlanta.

The FBI, along with its law enforcement partners, seized 719 kilos (1,585 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine in a series of search warrants in Atlanta and Hall County Friday night according to a press release.
The GBI agents and assisting agencies searched a home on Custer Avenue and found 419 kilos of meth hidden in a refrigerated truck loaded with blackberries according to a GBI Instagram post.
Deputies in Hall County, with support from the FBI and other partners, discovered another refrigerated truck outside a business on McEver Road containing 300 kilos of meth concealed in a similar shipment of blackberries. Investigators believe both shipments were smuggled into the United States from Mexico according to the FBI.
Two men, Juan Hernandez, 40, and Nelsonen Sorto, 36, were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine following the joint investigation.
Agents also seized three firearms at the Atlanta location after securing the search warrant based on intelligence gathered a day earlier.
The three men face state charges as the investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to contact FBI Atlanta at tips.fbi.gov, the GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office at (770) 830-1375, or the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
