Police seized 26 kilos of cocaine and £175,000 of cash as part of its probe

A Liverpool man sat near the top of a huge multi-million pound drug plot which saw more than 300 kilos of drugs supplied across West Yorkshire. Steven Conroy, 36 and formerly of Llanrwst Close in Dingle, has been jailed after a police probe seized 26 kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value of more than £2m between August 4, 2021 and December 9 of the same year.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police’s programme precision team also seized £175,000 in cash between the same dates. Investigations dredged up evidence that 303 kilos of cocaine and heroin had been supplied by members of the gang.
The force did not disclose what the street value for the amount supplied would be but a conservative estimate was given of several million pounds.
Detective Inspector Kevin Daly, of West Yorkshire Police’s programme precision team, which targets the supply of drugs, said: “This was a coordinated plot to supply heroin and cocaine in kilo quantities that would have been split and sold in smaller amounts on the streets of West Yorkshire and further afield.
“They sought to profit from the misery and violence that the drugs trade brings to our communities, and I am pleased that through our investigation they have been brought to justice.”
