Synthetic Drugs: Lab Shut Down and Chemicals Seized

In two separate operations on Tuesday, police dismantled a synthetic drug production site in Soest and seized a large stock of chemicals in Rotterdam.

Police arrested a 43-year-old and a 64-year-old man from Soest. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are looking into other possible suspects.

Police had received information that drugs might be produced at the Soest address. During Tuesday’s raid, officers found, in addition to the synthetic drug lab, dozens of kilos of pills and kilos of other drugs. The National Facility for Dismantling (LFO) of the police was on site to dismantle the location.

Along with the drugs, police also seized cash, a jet ski, and a horse trailer. The municipality has closed the property for three weeks.

On Tuesday, police conducted a large-scale raid at a car scrap business on Hoofdweg in Rotterdam-Alexander.

The operation was led by the Regional Cooperation Team on Criminal Money Flows (RSCG). During the raid, 325 liters of chemicals were found that could be used to manufacture synthetic drugs. The chemicals will be further investigated by the environmental team. No arrests were made.
