Drugs seized from Dorchester address and man arrested

Large amounts of cocaine and cannabis have been seized from a Dorchester address.

The Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant at an address off High East Street, whilst targeting the suspected supply of drugs into the town.

A 38 year-old man was also arrested and has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: “During a search of the address a substantial amount of suspected cocaine and cannabis was located and seized.

“This action was taken as part of Operation Scorpion which is a collaboration between the South West’s five police forces, alongside their respective offices of Police and Crime Commissioners, the British Transport Police and South West Regional Organised Crime Unit which sees resources combined to tackle drug supply and make the region a hostile environment for organised crime groups.

“We fully recognise the impact that the supply of illegal drugs has on our communities, and we remain committed to taking action to keep our county safe from their dangers.”
