€3.75m Cocaine Haul Seized at Rosslare, Man Arrested

Irish Revenue officers seize 53 kg of cocaine hidden in a vehicle at Rosslare Europort; a man in his 40s is arrested as investigations continue.

Revenue officers and An Garda Síochána have arrested a man in his 40s following the discovery of a significant cocaine shipment at Rosslare Europort in County Wexford, Ireland. The seizure, made on 22 December 2025, uncovered approximately 53.5 kg of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of about €3.75 million.

The drugs were found hidden inside the exhaust system of a vehicle that had arrived on a ferry from France. The accompanied freight unit was selected for inspection through routine risk profiling procedures carried out by Revenue officers.

Using a mobile x-ray scanner and detector dog Dáithí, officers located the packages concealed within the vehicle’s exhaust components. The discovery highlights the increasingly sophisticated tactics used by traffickers to smuggle illicit substances into Ireland.

Following the discovery, the man was arrested and taken into custody under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He is currently being held at a Garda station in southeast Ireland as investigations continue.

Revenue officials stressed that this operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat the importation of illegal drugs across Irish ports, urging anyone with information related to smuggling activities to come forward confidentially.

Rosslare Europort has been a focal point for numerous significant drug interceptions in recent years, as authorities work to disrupt smuggling networks and protect communities from the harms of illicit substance distribution.
