DALLAS, GA — Georgia officials have seized $116,934 in cash and a Dallas home prosecutors say was used as a “drug house.”
Paulding County Superior Court Judge Dean C. Bucci on Monday ordered the home be seized and forfeited along with the cash, the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office said. The house is worth more than $267,000.
Prosecutors say Bucci ruled “the home and cash were used to facilitate the sale of illegal drugs and had become known locally as a ‘drug house.'”
This comes nearly two-and-a-half years after deputies and a drug task force raided the home and arrested Aaron Ryan Jones, Sr. Prosecutors said 137 grams of heroin, 15 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of fentanyl, a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban and the $116,934 in cash were seized during the Aug. 2, 2023 raid.
The district attorney’s office on Aug. 25, 2023 filed civil action to seize all related real property and assets. The office prosecuted the forfeiture case Tuesday in superior court.
The house has been transferred to the State of Georgia for law enforcement, prosecutors said.
“Working alongside the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, we want drug dealers to know this: if you bring your criminal enterprise to Paulding County, we will dismantle it piece by piece,” Paulding County District Attorney Robert S. Lane said in a news release.
