Three face drug charges after months-long investigation

PITTSFIELD, Maine (WABI) – Three people are facing drug charges following a months-long investigation at a home in Pittsfield.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Hector Marrero of New Jersey, 35-year-old Kelvin Staton of New York, and 69-year-old Julie McDaniel of Pittsfield are charged with aggravated trafficking.

Authorities say the three were arrested Wednesday at McDaniel’s home on Sibley Pond Road.

During a search of the home, authorities say they seized drugs with a street value of $78,000, a shotgun, more than $4,000 in cash, and illegal drug related paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office says Marrero is on federal probation for illegal drug related convictions in New York.

The charges for Staton are aggravated due to the amount of drugs seized.

Bail is set at $100,000 for the two men.

All three are scheduled to appear in court in May.
