MORGAN CITY, LA. (KLFY)– Over 500 grams of drug seized from the investigation resulted in the arrest of a Morgan City man on Jan. 14, police said.

Police said they arrested Elliott D. Broussard, 62, of Morgan City and charged him with the following:
- possession with intent to distribute cocaine
- possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
- possession with intent to distribute fentanyl
- possession with intent to distribute marijuana
- possession of drug paraphernalia
- transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses
- violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug-free zone)
- hold for probation and parole
This investigation stemmed from multiple complaints alleging Broussard was selling illegal narcotics in the Morgan City area, police said. During the investigation, police located narcotics in Broussard’s residence. The search warrant was executed within approximately 2,000 feet of a local church, a posted drug-free zone.
The following items were seized during the investigation:
- 346 grams of methamphetamine
- 169 grams of marijuana
- 20 grams of crack cocaine
- 1 gram of fentanyl
- Digital scales
- Packaging materials
