Valdosta Police Seize Guns, Drugs After Narcotics Probe


Valdosta Police narcotics investigation uncovers guns and drugs, leading to arrests and seizures tied to trafficking and firearm possession.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WSAV) – A narcotics investigation by the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) led to the seizure of three firearms, narcotics packaged for sale and currency indicative of drug sales.

On January 15, 2026, members of the VPD K9 Unit and Narcotics Detectives investigated a complaint from a residence in the 600 block of North Troup Street. While conducting the investigation, the VPD discovered that Roy Edward Williams, Jr., 26, had an active arrest warrant unrelated to this case. Williams was taken into custody without incident.

Inside Williams’ residence, detectives found:

  • Two handguns
  • A rifle,
  • A quantity of marijuana packaged for sale
  • Tools indicative of narcotics sales

Narcotics investigation leads to gun and drug seizure for Valdosta Police

One of the handguns found at the scene had been reported stolen.

Williams was transported to Lowndes County Jail. In addition to his active arrest warrant, Williams is facing charges of:

• Possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute- felony;
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony- felony; and
• Possession of drug-related objects- misdemeanor.
