Windsor police have arrested a man and a woman after a traffic stop uncovered a handgun and nearly $10,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Police say the investigation also led to the man being charged with firearm-related offences in connection with a separate road rage incident.

Officers were called to a reported disturbance shortly after 2 a.m. Monday on Vine Court, near Rose-Ville Garden Drive just southwest of Lauzon Parkway and Tecumseh Road East. Upon arrival, police located a vehicle believed to be involved.

After conducting a traffic stop, police arrested the 21-year-old male passenger for breaching his release conditions. The 50-year-old female driver was also taken into custody after police say she obstructed officers during the arrest.

With the help of K-9 “Smoke” and his handler, officers searched the vehicle and recovered a Sig Sauer handgun with ammunition, along with a quantity of drugs and other items. Police seized 95.9 grams of crystal meth and smaller quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, along with oxycodone and other pills.

Police say the total value of drugs seized amounted to about $9,960.
