A Long Island woman known as “MamaKnowsBrown” was sentenced to 15 years for running a dark web drug ring selling fentanyl, heroin and cocaine.

A woman who ran a nationwide drug operation from her Long Island home using the dark web, cryptocurrency, and mail carriers was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Carolyn Tolin, 46, of Centereach, was sentenced in Suffolk County Court Thursday, Jan. 22, after pleading guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance and attempted operating as a major trafficker.
Tolin operated under the online alias “MamaKnowsBrown,” selling fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine from her Centereach home to customers across the country, according to the Suffolk County DA’s office. She admitted to possessing and selling more than $75,000 worth of narcotics between September 2024 and March 2025.
Using her dark web vendor site, Tolin offered multiple drugs and allowed customers to choose shipping options and leave product reviews, prosecutors said. She shipped narcotics nationwide through the United States Postal Service and UPS, while using Uber to make local deliveries within Suffolk County.
Payments were made in cryptocurrency, which Tolin later converted to cash, prosecutors said.
On March 14, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Tolin’s home. Inside the garage, investigators recovered large quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, along with computers, cellphones, partially prepared shipments, and drug-packaging equipment, prosecutors said.
Authorities also found digital scales, envelopes, a heat sealer, and overdose warning cards that Tolin included in drug packages.
