A Bradford man who operated under the phone handle “BigSexy.com” has been jailed for 10 years after being identified as a key figure in a major drugs conspiracy involving large quantities of Class A drugs.

Shane Kesler, 41, of Kennerleigh Walk, Bradford, was linked to an EncroChat phone used to contact heroin and cocaine suppliers higher up the criminal chain and arrange the purchase and supply of drugs by the kilogram. Bradford Crown Court heard that the operation had an estimated turnover of around £2 million, with approximately 40 kilos of Class A drugs involved.
Kesler was found guilty following a trial last year of conspiracy to supply drugs, as well as production of cannabis and possession of criminal property.
The court heard that police uncovered further evidence of criminal activity when officers searched the home of Kesler’s partner, Donna Broadbent, on Heysham Drive, Bradford. Kesler answered the door, and officers later discovered 13 mature cannabis plants growing in the attic. The grow was estimated to be capable of producing nearly 1.4 kilograms of cannabis, with a street value of between £6,850 and £13,700. A machete was also found inside the property.
Prosecutor Graham O’Sullivan told the court that police also seized almost 70 items of designer clothing and accessories, with an expert confirming that 55 were genuine. Despite records showing that Kesler and Broadbent had little or no legitimate income, investigators found evidence that the pair were living well beyond their means.
Broadbent, 43, admitted the cannabis production charge and was also found guilty of possession of criminal property. Recorder Patrick Palmer sentenced her to a two-year community order, which includes 200 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehabilitation activity.
In sentencing Kesler, Recorder Palmer said the evidence presented to the jury showed the EncroChat user had been “heavily involved” in the sale and supply of Class A drugs, describing his role as central to a significant and lucrative criminal enterprise.
