A 55-year-old NSW man was charged over allegedly running a dark web drug operation, selling illicit drugs for cryptocurrency.

A New South Wales man has been charged over an alleged dark web drug supply operation, with police claiming he exchanged methamphetamine and cocaine for cryptocurrency.
The 55-year-old is accused of running an online drug distribution network using encrypted dark web platforms. Investigators allege he sourced prohibited drugs online before selling them for cryptocurrency, then packaging and mailing the substances through the postal system.
Police say the operation involved significant quantities of drugs, including 168 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 51 grams of cocaine.
About 9:35am on Tuesday, officers from State Crime Command, assisted by specialist units, executed a search warrant at a Seven Hills home. During the search, police allegedly seized methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and several electronic devices believed to be connected to the operation.
The man was later arrested in Concord and taken to Burwood Police Station. He was refused bail and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on February 4.
He faces multiple charges, including supplying prohibited drugs in commercial and indictable quantities, ongoing drug supply offences, and possession of prohibited drugs.
Strike Force Onoway was established in September 2025 by State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Squad to investigate the alleged online distribution of prohibited drugs linked to a dark web profile operating out of New South Wales.
