Brazil Seizes 240kg Cocaine Bound for Morocco & Portugal

Brazilian customs seize 240kg of cocaine hidden in soybean oil shipment bound for Tangier Med, Morocco and then Portugal.

Brazilian customs officials have intercepted 240 kilograms (529 pounds) of cocaine hidden in a soybean oil shipment headed for Morocco’s Tangier Med port before continuing on to Portugal, according to local media.

The narcotics were concealed within a cargo of more than 20 tons of soybean oil at the port of Santos in São Paulo state.

The seizure was made during routine inspections using sniffer dogs and scanning technology, reports said.

After confirming the find, customs authorities at Santos notified Brazil’s federal police, who launched an investigation under the oversight of the public prosecutor’s office to uncover how the shipment was arranged and identify those involved.
