Dutch customs seize package of illegal weapons, leading to arrest of a 17-year-old in Amsterdam after 400 prohibited arms discovered in his home.

Dutch authorities have arrested a 17-year-old boy from Amsterdam after customs officials uncovered a large shipment of illegal weapons bound for his address. The discovery began when customs officers at Schiphol Airport intercepted a suspicious package containing prohibited arms and alerted local police.
Using the name and address on the parcel, investigators traced the shipment to a residence in the city. When officers executed a search of the home, they found an estimated 400 illegal weapons, including electric stun guns, pepper spray and brass knuckles, according to police reports.
The teenager was taken into custody on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons and remains in detention as the investigation continues. Authorities have not disclosed whether he lives at the address where the weapons were found.
Dutch police and customs officials have emphasised the importance of vigilance in spotting illicit weapons shipments and urged the public to report any suspected illegal weapons storage, trade or trafficking through official hotlines.
