RCMP in Grande Prairie, Alberta seize illegal drugs, firearms, cash, contraband cigarettes and vehicles; three residents now face multiple charges.

Three Grande Prairie, Alberta residents are facing multiple criminal charges after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs, firearms, money, contraband cigarettes and several vehicles, according to a local news report.
Police say the operation was carried out by members of the Grande Prairie RCMP Drug Section and Crime Reduction Unit, who executed search warrants and conducted investigations targeting suspected drug trafficking and related criminal activity in the area.
During the enforcement action, officers recovered controlled substances, a number of guns, cash suspected to be proceeds of crime, unmarked tobacco products and vehicles believed to be used in criminal activity.
The three individuals including a 50-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and another resident, have been charged with multiple offences under the Criminal Code and controlled substances laws, including drug trafficking, weapons possession and possession of contraband cigarettes.
RCMP did not release further details about the identities of those charged, but confirmed that court appearances are scheduled in the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie for the accused to face the charges.
Authorities say the bust was part of an ongoing effort to disrupt illicit trafficking and organized criminal activity affecting communities across the region.
