A Bryan, Texas man received 14 years in federal prison for coercing minors online and possessing child sexual abuse material.

A Bryan, Texas resident has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after admitting to coercing minors online and possessing child sexual abuse material, federal prosecutors announced.
Reuben Waller Boyer, 27, previously pleaded guilty to charges involving the coercion and enticement of minors as well as possession of illegal material involving children. A federal judge ordered a 168-month prison sentence, combining the penalties for both offenses to run concurrently.
The investigation began in February 2021 after authorities identified an online user sharing files containing child sexual abuse material in a public chat room on the messaging platform [platform name withheld]. Investigators later traced the account to Boyer and discovered a cloud storage link containing dozens of illegal videos.
Law enforcement also uncovered communications between Boyer and a 14-year-old minor. According to prosecutors, the messages included instructions that led the minor to create explicit content for Boyer.
Authorities subsequently executed a search warrant at Boyer’s residence and seized several electronic devices. A forensic examination revealed more than 1,000 images and videos of child sexual abuse material, including files depicting severe abuse of young victims.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered Boyer to pay restitution to an identified victim and serve five years of supervised release after completing his sentence. During that time, he will face strict limitations on internet use and contact with minors and will be required to register as a sex offender.
The case was investigated by the FBI’s Bryan Resident Agency and prosecuted as part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating online child exploitation and identifying victims.
