Malaysian police dismantled three drug syndicates and seized narcotics worth RM180 million in major raids across Klang Valley.

Malaysian police have dismantled three drug trafficking syndicates and seized narcotics valued at more than RM180 million (45 million USD) during a series of coordinated operations in the Klang Valley.
The operations were carried out by the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), which targeted multiple locations linked to local and international drug networks. Authorities said one of the groups had connections to a trafficking network operating from the Golden Triangle, a region known for large-scale drug production and distribution.
According to NCID director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the largest seizure occurred during Op Chrysogaster on March 2. Police arrested two Malaysian men aged 28 and 44 and confiscated more than 3.4 tonnes of suspected methamphetamine, estimated to be worth around RM170 million. The drugs were discovered during raids in the Taman Gembira and Taman Overseas Union Garden areas in Kuala Lumpur.
Investigators also uncovered evidence that an international syndicate was attempting to establish a large-scale illegal drug laboratory in Selangor. Authorities believe the facility was intended to support the production or processing of narcotics for wider regional distribution.
Police said the integrated operations took place during the Ramadan period and involved extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering. The crackdown forms part of ongoing efforts by Malaysian authorities to disrupt major drug trafficking networks operating within the country and across Southeast Asia.
Officials noted that investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to identify additional suspects and dismantle the broader criminal networks linked to the seized drugs.
