A 25-year-old man was charged after allegedly importing Dr. Seuss-themed LSD tabs hidden in a book at Perth Airport.

Australian authorities have charged a 25-year-old man after allegedly attempting to import LSD concealed inside his luggage at Perth Airport.
The man appeared before Perth Magistrates Court on March 13, 2026, after officers discovered a sheet of 80 LSD tabs printed with a Dr. Seuss theme hidden inside a book during a baggage examination. The discovery was made by officers from the Australian Border Force (ABF) after the traveler arrived on an international flight on March 12.
Preliminary testing of the tabs indicated the presence of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), a powerful hallucinogenic substance. Authorities said the drugs were concealed in an apparent attempt to evade border detection.
During the same luggage search, officers allegedly uncovered several additional suspicious items, including 33 vials of peptides, scales, syringes, a large quantity of cigarettes, and a small bottle containing 54 tablets that tested positive for dexamphetamine. Investigations into the additional substances are ongoing.
Following the discovery, the matter was referred to investigators from the Australian Federal Police (AFP), who charged the man with importing a border-controlled drug, an offense that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison under Australian law.
AFP Acting Inspector Gabby Adam said authorities remain focused on preventing dangerous drugs from entering the country, warning that LSD can have significant psychological effects and long-term consequences for users.
Officials from the Australian Border Force also emphasized that border officers are trained to identify suspicious behavior and concealed items, noting that sophisticated targeting methods are used to detect drug trafficking attempts at airports.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities examine the additional substances found in the traveler’s luggage.
