Two Arrested After €2.75M Drugs Seized in Dublin

Irish police seize €2.75M worth of cocaine and cannabis in Dublin raids, arresting two suspects in major anti-drug operation.

Irish police have arrested two men after seizing drugs worth approximately €2.75 million during coordinated searches in Dublin.

Gardaí carried out the raids on March 20 in the Coolock and Finglas areas as part of ongoing investigations into organized drug trafficking. During a search of a business premises in Coolock, officers discovered 38 kilograms of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €2.66 million.

A follow-up search at a residential property in Finglas led to the seizure of one kilogram of cocaine worth about €70,000 and one kilogram of cannabis valued at around €20,000.

The two suspects, men aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested and taken to a Dublin Garda station for questioning. Authorities later confirmed that both men had been charged and were scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin.

The searches were conducted by the Dublin Crime Response Team as part of Operation Tara, Ireland’s national strategy aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks and organized crime groups.

All seized substances will undergo forensic testing by Forensic Science Ireland while investigators continue to examine evidence connected to the case.

Irish authorities say operations under Operation Tara are designed to disrupt drug supply chains and reduce the availability of controlled substances in communities across the country. Investigations into the Dublin seizure remain ongoing.
