UK Smugglers Jailed Over £13.6M Cocaine Supply Network

UK smugglers linked to a £13.6M cocaine network have been jailed after an NCA investigation uncovered large-scale drug deliveries.

A group of drug smugglers involved in a large-scale cocaine distribution network has been sentenced following a major investigation by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA).

The offenders were part of an organised criminal operation responsible for delivering large quantities of cocaine across the United Kingdom. Investigators said the network supplied more than 170 kilograms of cocaine between April and August 2022, with the drugs estimated to have a street value of around £13.6 million.

Authorities said the drugs were transported to multiple locations across the country before being distributed through criminal supply chains. The investigation was carried out by the Organised Crime Partnership, a joint unit involving the NCA and the Metropolitan Police.

Following the probe, several members of the network were arrested and prosecuted. At Birmingham Crown Court, the group received combined prison sentences totaling more than 30 years, bringing an end to the operation.

Officials said dismantling the network removed a significant quantity of Class A drugs from the streets and disrupted organised crime groups profiting from large-scale drug trafficking.

The NCA highlighted that coordinated investigations between national and regional law enforcement agencies remain key in tackling organised drug supply networks operating across the UK.

Authorities also warned that cocaine trafficking continues to be one of the most profitable criminal activities for organised gangs, often linked to wider violence, exploitation, and other serious crimes.
