The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department’s narcotics unit seized 120 pounds of meth Tuesday, Dec. 30, according to a press release.
KCKPD’s special operations unit served a search warrant at a Kansas City, Kansas residence, and seized methamphetamine, eight firearms and other drugs including marijuana, fentanyl, cocaine and heroin. Four adults were arrested for felony distribution.
It’s “one of largest single seizures of methamphetamine in the city’s history,” KCKPD said.
A spokesperson for KCKPD did not immediately respond to requests from The Star on what neighborhood the search warrant was executed in.
120 pounds of meth, and other drugs including marijuana, fentanyl, cocaine, heroin and meth, were seized by the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department Narcotics Unit Tuesday, Dec. 30.
KCKPD also shared statistics on how many drugs and firearms were seized by their narcotics unit and task force officers in 2025. It combined for 373 felony arrests and the following, according to a press release:
- Marijuana: 3,540 pounds
- Cocaine: 673 pounds
- Heroin: 1.5 pounds
- Meth: 1,305 pounds
- Powder fentanyl: 30 pounds
- Fentanyl pills: 15,761
- U.S. currency: $1,224,507.00
- Firearms: 375
