London Man Guilty in Massive GBL Drug Bust

A London man pleads guilty after police seize over 2,000L of GBL, one of the city’s largest drug busts tied to chemsex networks.

London, UK – April 17, 2026 A 61-year-old man has admitted his role in a major drug operation following one of the largest seizures of GBL ever recorded in London, authorities confirmed.

Ahoor Ramabark Fathi, from Southall, pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court to multiple offences, including possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, as well as possession of a firearm, ammunition, and criminal property.

The case stems from a joint investigation involving the Metropolitan Police and Greater Manchester Police, who uncovered a drug supply network operating between Manchester and London. Intelligence suggested large quantities of GBL were being transported into the capital, alongside the movement of crystal meth in the opposite direction.

Following months of phone data analysis, investigators identified Fathi as a key suspect. On March 18, 2026, officers arrested him after locating multiple addresses linked to the operation across Ealing and Southall.

A subsequent search of a storage unit rented by Fathi led to the discovery of 2,256 litres of GBL, packed in hundreds of bottles. Police also seized approximately £100,000 in cash, 456 grams of crystal meth, and a firearm with ammunition from associated properties.

Authorities described the seizure as one of the largest of its kind in London. GBL, often associated with drug-facilitated crimes and the chemsex scene, poses serious health risks including addiction, memory loss, and overdose.

Detective Inspector Mark Gavin, who led the investigation, stated that dismantling such operations remains a priority due to the link between drug supply and wider organised crime in the city.

Fathi is due to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on July 23, 2026.
