Three St. Louis men admit selling fentanyl and drugs via social media in a scheme linked to a fatal overdose.

Three Missouri men have admitted operating a drug distribution scheme using social media platforms to sell fentanyl and other narcotics, a case linked to both a fatal and nonfatal overdose, federal authorities confirmed.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, the three men pleaded guilty to multiple drug-related offenses tied to a coordinated operation that ran out of a residence on Ohio Street in St. Louis.
- Zaki Salman (23) Alleged organizer who rented a drug premises, directed sales, and advertised drugs online
- Haeder Jameel (23) Co-conspirator who helped distribute drugs and manage operations
- Aeman Ali (23) Assisted with transactions and maintaining the drug property
Prosecutors said the group used social media to advertise and sell narcotics, including fentanyl, MDMA, cocaine, and counterfeit pills marketed as prescription Percocet. The drugs were sourced from California and distributed locally.
Investigators determined the operation was active between August and December 2022, with Salman directing sales while Jameel and Ali handled transactions when he was absent. A court-approved search of the property uncovered multiple controlled substances, including fentanyl and amphetamines.
Authorities said the scheme had serious consequences. One victim, a minor who believed they were purchasing prescription medication, suffered an overdose but survived after receiving Narcan. In a separate incident, fentanyl sold from the same location was linked to a man’s fatal overdose in November 2022.
All three defendants now face potential sentences of up to 20 years in prison per count. Sentencing hearings are scheduled for May through July 2026.
Officials say the case highlights the growing role of social media in drug trafficking, where dealers use online platforms to reach buyers while attempting to avoid traditional law enforcement detection.
