Postmates and FuegoPacksXpress Linked to Drug Ring

Lizella resident Eric Turner was arrested in a federal dark web drug trafficking case involving heroin shipments and online marketplaces.

A Georgia man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged dark web drug trafficking operation that investigators say distributed heroin and other narcotics to customers across the United States.

Eric Turner, of Lizella, Georgia, was taken into custody on June 5, 2026, and charged with federal conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. According to court records, the investigation centers on a drug trafficking operation that authorities say remained active through May 2026.

A 63-page affidavit filed by a DEA agent alleges that Turner became involved in drug trafficking after experiencing financial difficulties linked to real estate investments in 2024. Investigators claim Turner later worked with a Florida-based associate, Jose Smith, to distribute illegal narcotics through dark web marketplaces.

According to federal authorities, Turner allegedly supplied drugs from Georgia while Smith handled distribution activities in Florida. Prosecutors said the pair operated dark web vendor accounts under names including “Postmates” and “FuegoPacksXpress,” offering substances such as MDMA, heroin, cocaine, and counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl.

Investigators allege the online stores advertised shipments to approximately 1,800 customers nationwide. Court documents state that Turner regularly shipped narcotics to Florida, where they were prepared and mailed to buyers.

Authorities said the operation later shifted its focus primarily to heroin. Evidence included in the affidavit reportedly shows kilogram-sized packages of heroin that investigators believe were stored by Turner before being transported to Florida for distribution.

The investigation intensified in May 2026 when federal agents began monitoring Smith’s activities. According to the affidavit, agents observed him depositing suspected heroin shipments into U.S. Postal Service collection boxes while wearing latex gloves. Authorities believe the precautions were intended to avoid leaving forensic evidence.

Federal agents also intercepted a package shipped from the Macon, Georgia area on June 1, 2026. Investigators said the parcel contained a kilogram-style brick of suspected narcotics and was allegedly sent by Turner to Smith for fulfillment of customer orders placed through the dark web marketplace.

Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, authorities charged both Turner and Smith with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Turner was booked into the Bibb County Jail and is being held for the U.S. Marshals Service, while Smith was also arrested in connection with the case.

The charges remain allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
