Gardaí of the Irish law enforcement have seized a quantity of drugs worth an estimated street value of €3.4m (£2.9m).

Benzodiazepine tablets were recovered during a number of searches in Dublin on Wednesday.

The operation formed part of Operation Tara, a Garda initiative targeting drug-dealing networks.

Gardaí have said no arrests have been made and the drugs have been sent for analysis.

Investigations into the seizure are ongoing.
