Border Officers Seize 111 kg Cocaine, 2 Arrested in Canada

CBSA and RCMP seize over 111 kg of cocaine in commercial truck near Windsor; two arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Canadian border officers have seized more than 111 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a commercial truck near Windsor, Ontario, leading to the arrest of two individuals, authorities say.

Officers from the Canada Border Services Agency uncovered the suspected cocaine during an inspection of a commercial tractor-trailer at a border crossing on 1 March 2026. A detector dog alerted to the presence of narcotics, prompting a detailed search of the vehicle and its cargo.

The CBSA says the cocaine was concealed among legitimate goods, and the combined weight of the seized drugs exceeded 111 kg a significant quantity that would have street value in the millions of dollars if it had reached criminal distribution networks.

Both occupants of the truck whose identities have not been released by officials were arrested on the scene. They are now facing charges under Canada’s Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including importation and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The matter has been turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for further investigation and prosecution.

Officials didn’t say where the truck was coming from or its intended destination but emphasised the ongoing efforts by border agencies to intercept illegal drugs before they reach communities. This seizure follows other recent interceptions that demonstrate continued vigilance at Canada’s international crossings.
