Gardaí from Coolock Drugs Unit seize over €700,000 in cannabis and cocaine in Dublin; two men, aged 20s and 30s, arrested and detained.

An Garda Síochána officers from the Coolock Drugs Unit have seized more than €700,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested two men in Dublin as part of an ongoing investigation into drug supply, Gardaí say.
Shortly after 3.30 pm on Saturday, Gardaí stopped a car in the Dublin 1 area and recovered an estimated €100,000 worth of cannabis, leading to the arrest of a man in his 20s at the scene. Searches were then carried out at two residential properties nearby.
Follow-up searches uncovered additional cannabis worth about €551,000 and cocaine valued around €70,000. Officers also seized £33,000 in British sterling and more than €4,000 in euro cash during those searches.
A second man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in connection with the findings. Both suspects are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in the Dublin region.
All seized substances will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis as Gardaí continue their inquiries into the case
