Five Jailed in £4m West Yorkshire Cannabis Farms Case

Five men jailed April 2026 after £4m cannabis farms uncovered across West Yorkshire in major organised crime investigation.

Five men have been jailed after police dismantled a large-scale cannabis production network worth nearly £4 million across West Yorkshire.

The case, concluded on 28 April 2026, followed an extensive investigation by West Yorkshire Police into an organised crime group operating multiple drug farms between October 2024 and April 2025.

Detectives identified Selman Hysa, 44, as the ringleader of the operation, which involved family members and close associates. The group cultivated cannabis at several sites, including locations in Wakefield, Pontefract, Horbury, Normanton, and Huddersfield.

Police uncovered five separate cannabis farms, including sites at industrial estates, commercial units, and a former social club. The total value of the seized drugs was estimated at £3.93 million, highlighting the scale of the operation.

All five men admitted conspiracy to produce cannabis, with additional offences including money laundering and possession with intent to supply. At Leeds Crown Court, sentences were handed down on 24 April 2026.

Hysa received six years and six months in prison, while co-defendants Armand Hysa, Klevis Hysa, Kosta Dumani, and Admir Cerpja were handed sentences ranging from nearly four to over five years. A sixth man, Klodian Bofja, was separately sentenced to 16 months for his role in one of the sites.

Police said the operation targeted the leadership of the organised crime group to disrupt high-level drug production. Investigators also warned that industrial cannabis farms are often linked to wider criminal networks and can pose serious risks to local communities.
