Trellix confirms April 2026 breach after hackers accessed part of its source code repository, prompting investigation and alerts.

Cybersecurity firm Trellix has confirmed a security breach involving unauthorized access to part of its internal source code repository, raising concerns about potential risks to enterprise security systems.
The incident, disclosed on May 2, 2026, involved attackers gaining access to a limited portion of the company’s source code environment. Trellix said it identified the breach and immediately launched an investigation with external forensic experts while notifying law enforcement authorities.
According to the company, there is currently no evidence that its source code has been altered, exploited, or used in attacks. Officials also stated that the software release and distribution pipelines were not impacted by the intrusion.
Despite this, experts warn that access to source code repositories can pose serious risks, as attackers may analyze the code to uncover vulnerabilities or prepare future supply chain attacks targeting customers.
Trellix has not disclosed how long the attackers had access or who may be responsible for the breach. The company said it will share additional technical details once the investigation is complete.
The incident adds to a growing list of high-profile source code breaches affecting major technology and cybersecurity firms, highlighting ongoing threats to software supply chains and enterprise infrastructure in 2026.
