Man, 30, arrested in Dungannon after £1m cocaine seizure. Police also uncovered CSAM and links to organised crime activity.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after police seized suspected cocaine worth an estimated £1 million and uncovered child sexual abuse material (CSAM) during an investigation in Northern Ireland.
The arrest took place on Friday, April 2026, as part of an operation led by the Police Service of Northern Ireland targeting organised criminal activity. Officers recovered the drugs during searches of a property in Dungannon.
The suspect is being questioned on suspicion of offences related to drug supply, money laundering, and possession of indecent images of children.
Detective Inspector Conor Sweeney said the investigation followed forensic analysis of two mobile phones seized in January from a vehicle stopped in the Markethill area. The devices revealed evidence of organised drug trafficking involving cocaine and cannabis, as well as the movement of illicit cash.
Police also confirmed that indecent images of children were discovered on one of the devices, significantly expanding the scope of the case.
Sweeney said the arrest highlights both the use of advanced digital forensics and the “multi-layered criminality” often associated with organised crime groups. He added that drug use fuels wider harm, warning that the consequences of cocaine trafficking are often hidden but serious.
The investigation is ongoing.
