Schiphol Cargo Worker Arrested Over Drug Data Leaks

A 24-year-old Schiphol cargo worker was arrested for allegedly leaking sensitive airport data to drug trafficking networks.

A cargo worker at Schiphol Airport has been arrested on suspicion of leaking confidential logistical information to organised drug trafficking networks operating through the Netherlands.

The suspect, a 24-year-old man from Amsterdam, was detained by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee on May 19, 2026, as part of an investigation into unauthorized access to airport cargo company computer systems.

According to investigators, the man allegedly used his access to systems belonging to a cargo handling company at Schiphol Airport to obtain sensitive operational data and pass it to individuals connected to drug-related crime.

Authorities believe the leaked information was used by organised trafficking groups to move narcotics through Schiphol while avoiding detection by customs and law enforcement agencies.

Following the arrest, officers searched the suspect’s home in Amsterdam, where they discovered a firearm with live ammunition, approximately €11,000 in cash, and four illegal Cobra-type fireworks.

The suspect later appeared before an investigating judge, who ordered that he remain in custody while authorities continue examining the extent of the alleged data leaks and his suspected criminal connections.

The investigation remains ongoing.
