A man in his 20s was arrested after gardaí seized suspected drugs and cash worth nearly €1 million in Co Limerick.
A man in his 20s has been arrested after gardaí seized suspected drugs and cash with a combined estimated value approaching €1 million during searches in County Limerick.
The operation took place on June 10, 2026, when officers executed search warrants at two properties in Pallasgreen as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the region.
During the searches, gardaí recovered suspected diamorphine with an estimated street value of more than €659,000. Officers also seized suspected cannabis valued at over €114,000, alprazolam tablets worth approximately €47,000, and suspected cocaine with an estimated value exceeding €7,000.
Investigators additionally recovered 12 kilograms of suspected benzocaine, a substance commonly used as a cutting agent in illegal drug production.
Alongside the suspected drugs, officers seized more than €117,000 in cash, a vehicle and a number of additional items that are now subject to examination.
The arrested man is being detained under Section 2 of Ireland’s Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 while the investigation continues.
Gardaí said all seized substances will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, while the remaining items recovered during the searches will undergo further technical examination.
The raids were carried out by members of the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit with support from regional units as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and supply networks operating in the area.
No charges had been announced at the time of publication.
