CBP officers seized more than $1.1 million worth of cocaine at two Texas border crossings in a single day, arresting two drivers.

Two separate traffic stops at Texas border crossings led to the seizure of more than $1.1 million worth of cocaine in a single day, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The back-to-back discoveries were made on June 26, 2026, at the Roma International Bridge and the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville, where officers uncovered a combined 83.33 pounds of cocaine hidden inside two SUVs attempting to enter the United States.
The larger of the two seizures happened at the Roma port of entry after officers selected a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe for a secondary inspection. A narcotics detection dog alerted to the vehicle, prompting a more thorough search that uncovered 60.49 pounds of cocaine concealed inside. Authorities estimate the shipment was worth about $807,700.
Later that day, officers at the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville stopped a 2026 Toyota Sequoia for inspection. During the search, they found another 22.84 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of nearly $305,000.

In both cases, the vehicles and narcotics were seized, while agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) took the drivers into custody and opened separate criminal investigations.
Although the two incidents were handled independently, together they represent one of the larger single-day cocaine seizures recently reported at Texas ports of entry. The combined haul had an estimated value of just over $1.1 million.
Drug trafficking organizations frequently use passenger vehicles to move cocaine across the U.S.-Mexico border, often concealing the drugs in hidden compartments or factory-built spaces inside the vehicle. Border officers rely on intelligence, inspection technology and specially trained detection dogs to identify suspicious vehicles before they reach U.S. roads.
Investigators have not released the identities of the drivers, and both cases remain under investigation.
