€830K Ketamine Seized in Dublin Raid, Man Arrested

Gardaí seize €830,000 worth of suspected ketamine during raids in Lucan, Dublin under Operation Tara. A man in his 20s was arrested.

Irish police have seized suspected ketamine worth approximately €830,000 during a series of searches in Lucan, west Dublin, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Gardaí from the Ronanstown Drugs Unit carried out a search of a property in Lucan on 5 April 2026, where officers initially recovered one kilogram of suspected ketamine valued at around €60,000.

Following the initial discovery, investigators conducted additional searches the next day, leading to the seizure of a further 13 kilograms of suspected ketamine with an estimated value of €770,000.

In total, authorities recovered drugs worth about €830,000, dealing a significant blow to suspected trafficking activity in the area.

A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the operation and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The seized substances have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for further analysis, while investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the case.

The raid was carried out as part of Operation Tara, a nationwide initiative launched to target organized crime groups involved in the importation, distribution, and sale of illegal drugs across Ireland.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as they work to identify others potentially involved in the suspected trafficking network.
