Hallett Cove Man Charged After LSD Drug Parcel Seized

A South Australian man was charged after police intercepted a drug parcel containing LSD, MDMA, ketamine and psilocybin.

A South Australian man has been charged following the interception of a drug parcel containing multiple illicit substances, including a large commercial quantity of LSD, as part of an ongoing organised crime investigation.

According to South Australia Police, the investigation began in December 2025 after authorities intercepted a suspicious parcel at Adelaide Airport. The package allegedly contained samples of several illegal drugs, including LSD, MDMA, cannabis, ketamine and psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms.

The discovery led detectives from the Serious Crime Task Force to conduct further inquiries, culminating in a search warrant executed at a property in Hallett Cove on May 27, 2026.

During the search, police allegedly located additional quantities of LSD, cannabis, psilocybin and other controlled substances. Investigators also seized electronic devices believed to contain evidence linked to drug production and trafficking activities.

A 36-year-old Hallett Cove man was arrested and charged with trafficking a commercial quantity and a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, specifically LSD. Police granted him bail and he is scheduled to appear before the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on July 16, 2026.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges expected following forensic testing of the seized substances and analysis of digital evidence recovered during the search.

Police allege the drugs formed part of a broader distribution operation involving postal services and online platforms used to facilitate the sale and movement of illicit substances.

South Australia Police said the case remains under active investigation as detectives continue examining potential links to wider drug trafficking activities.
