Revenue and Gardaí seized drugs worth €2 million during a joint operation targeting organised crime activity in Ireland.

Irish authorities have seized approximately €2 million worth of illegal drugs during a joint operation targeting organised crime networks as part of Operation Tara.
The intelligence-led operation involved Revenue’s Customs Service alongside the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB). Investigators carried out coordinated searches linked to suspected drug trafficking activity connected to organised criminal groups operating in Ireland.
According to Revenue officials, the operation resulted in the seizure of large quantities of controlled drugs believed to be intended for distribution on the Irish market. Authorities said the haul forms part of ongoing nationwide efforts to disrupt organised crime gangs involved in narcotics importation, money laundering, and large-scale drug supply.
Images shared online following the raid showed Garda officers and Revenue investigators examining vacuum-sealed drug packages and evidence recovered during the searches. Additional material posted by local news outlet Boyne News indicated the operation involved multiple law enforcement units working together during the investigation.
Several suspects were reportedly arrested during the operation and detained for questioning under Irish drug trafficking legislation. Authorities have not publicly released all identities connected to the investigation.
Operation Tara remains Ireland’s national anti-drug strategy focused on disrupting organised crime groups responsible for importing and distributing narcotics across the country. In recent months, Gardaí and Revenue officers have carried out multiple large-scale seizures involving cannabis, cocaine, MDMA, and other controlled substances valued in the millions of euros.
Investigations into the latest seizure remain ongoing.
